I've tried to include a few pieces of pyrography to give people an idea of what can be achieved with this ancient craft. I've drawn on features from my new home and village, Darfield, for inspiration for all of the new pieces.
Darfield Church Plaque
Pyrography can be used to add great detail to a picture as well as a feel of antiquity (useful for subjects such as churches). The church featured here, has recently been listed as a grade one building and is a tourist focal point in Darfield. Click on the images to enlarge.
Pet Portrait Plaque
Yet again, my cat has found her way into my work; mainly because she's the only pet I have to make a portrait of! Again, I hope it demonstrates what can be achieved... if anyone is interested in immortalising their pet in this way, please feel free to get in touch! Pyrography pet portraits are available to purchase for just £15 each. Please click on the images to enlarge.
Floral Mirrors
I realise that not everyone will be interested in highly detailed images, so I've tried to add a few more 'contemporary' pieces, which are designed to fit into a variety of homes.
As there are millions of flower species to choose from, I decided to stick to a few that I've grown myself in my garden to create the floral designs. I've also included a few older designs, which fit into the theme.
