Exhibition Artwork

Darfield is a really picturesque village, with ample of countryside to explore. I've tried to capture the feel of the place in a few watercolours for the exhibition. If you have a favourite scene or image you'd like to have in a watercolour form, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'd be happy to help! Click on the images to enlarge.

Watercolours
Darfield Duck Pond

This is one of my favourite places to walk as you can feel like you're the only person in the area (appart from the ducks of course) and is a nice place to end up after walking around the old Coal Pitt site, which has been landscaped into an open country park.

Off The Beaten Track - 1

After moving into our new house, which was on the other side of the village to our old walk, my partner and I decided to explore another area of Darfield. And this is what we found! It's hard to believe that views like this are only about a ten minute walk from the center of the village! This walk took us just off Doncaster road, looping around some houses to join Doncaster Road again near the local curry house.

Off the Beaten Track - 2

This view was a little further along the walk, just before we reached the road again. The river curves around the trees featured in the previous watercolour and then flows under the road. Last year this whole area was flooded!

Acryllic Canvas Set

I can hear you asking, 'What has this got to do with that Darfield theme she was going on about?', well, firstly it's in the colours of my spare bedroom, but secondly, and most importantly, it is an abstract impression of what I'd like my garden to look like when I look out my window (unfortunately it's not very established yet, but give it a few years and you never know!). We do get alot of butterflies in our garden though so there's the link...
